Smart AlertTM Remote Control Alerting System Designed by Evolve
Evolve has recently completed the world-class industrial design program for the remote control of the Unitron Smart AlertTM System, the first fully integrated hearing
and alerting system that enables household alerts to communicate directly with hearing instruments. The system, developed in partnership with Bellman & Symfon of Sweden, a global leader in alerting technologies, brings together Unitron's widely acclaimed remote control and advanced hearing instruments with proven home alerting detectors. The Smart AlertTM System wirelessly connects household detectors with the Smart Alert remote - the same remote used for hearing instrument functionality. When doorbell, telephone or smoke detectors sound, the Smart AlertTM System provides alerts through event-specific icons on the remote, the remote vibrates, and beep signals are sent directly to the hearing instruments. At night, when hearing instruments are not in use, the Smart Alert remote is placed in its nightstand charger, which connects to a bed shaker, so alerts are maintained around the clock.

Aldo Balatti Attends the Milano Salone Internazionale del Mobile
Each year in April, during the Milan Design Week, designers and retail buyers from around the world convene in Milan for one of the design world's biggest trade shows, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile. For a second year, Aldo Balatti of Evolve Design Solutions was one of 313,000 visitors from all over the world who attended the event from April 22-27. The event was a great opportunity to forge new professional and personal connections with international designers within the design industry and manufacturers as well as it was an insightful and enriching experience.

Shift, the Ultra-Small BTE Hearing Instrument Created by Evolve
Evolve Design Solutions has recently finalized the complete world-class industrial design program for Unitron's Shift ultra-small BTE hearing instruments. Unitron announced the Shift introduction at AudiologyNOW! 2009 in Dallas, Texas. Working with its global development group and its European mechanical design group, Evolve's new Shift ultra-small BTE is stylish and smart with shells and spines which can be easily interchanged in the office to meet clients' style preferences to match skin tone, hair color or personal style. Innovative Office Seating Armrest System showcased at NeoCon 2008
Evolve Design Solutions' new Twister Armrest was launched in Chicago, IL at NeoCon 2008 (the world's most important trade fair for the contract furnishing industry).
This innovative slim asymmetric fully pivoting armrest system was designed and engineered one of North America's leading manufacturers of office seating and boasts the ability to rotate 360 degrees as well as stop or lock in any position. The new armrest and mechanism is comprised of structural diecast zinc and polyurethane foam components.

Evolve Designs and Develops Premium Packaging System
Working with its Global Development Centre, Evolve Design Solutions has recently finalized a complete world-class packaging system for a large international company renowned for its high-value leading-edge technology solutions and distributed in over 65 countries. The new premium packaging was designed and developed for carrying and storage of hearing instruments. The new three component packaging system comprises of an injection molded hard case with soft molded elastomeric inlays as well as a thermoformed EVA large carrying case and a small case.

Aldo Balatti of Evolve Design Solutions was one of 2000 participants from more than 40 countries who attended the ICSID/IDSA Connecting '07 World Design Congress held in San Francisco from October 17-20. In attendance at this design conference, labeled "The Design Event of a Lifetime", were some of the top designers and innovation thinkers in the world. The event was a great opportunity to forge new professional and personal connections within the industry of design and innovation and was an amazing and enriching experience.

Mold Matrix Provides Insight for Plastics Industry
Aldo Balatti of Evolve Design Solutions and Chair of the SME
Injection Molding Tech Group spearheaded the creation and
development of the new Production Ready Mold Matrix product
offering. The Mold Matrix, a joint project between William
J. Tobin and SME's Injection Molding Technical Group, is targeted
as a guideline to show the protocols necessary to release
different types of injection molds to production.

Evolve Creates Innovative
Office Seating Slim Armrest System
Drawing from its experience in seating and manufacturing,
Evolve Design Solutions was selected by one of North America's
leading manufacturers of office seating to design and engineer
an innovative slim asymmetric fully pivoting armrest system.
The new armrest and mechanism is comprised of structural diecast
zinc and polyurethane foam components. Structural FEA (Finite
Element Analysis) was used along with 3D rapid prototyping
to validate its final design.

New Rugged Military Electronic
Product Designed by Evolve
A new rugged state-of-the-art electronic military product
has just been designed and engineered by Evolve Design Solutions.
The new product is destined for military personnel and must
survive stringent military testing and must meet and comply
with the environmental testing requirements of the MIL-STD-810
standard. While environmental considerations were important,
overall physical size and weight were crucial requirements.
Evolve worked closely with the electronic hardware and firmware
development team in creating this new product.

Javelin Technologies, Canada's premier SolidWorks Value Added
Reseller (VAR), presented Aldo Balatti of Evolve Design Solutions
Inc. with a 2006 Customer Appreciation Award for being the
first buyer and user of SolidWorks 3D CAD software in Canada,
back in 1995. The presentation took place in Ottawa, on August
9, at the Annual SolidWorks Ottawa User Group meeting.

SME Conference at NPE 2006
The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) has appointed
Aldo Balatti of Evolve Design Solutions, Ottawa, ON, Canada,
as Chair and Moderator for two energizing technical sessions
called Productivity Enhancements for Injection Molding. The
conference, running alongside the National Plastics Exposition
(NPE), entitled Managing Plastics Manufacturing: Strategies
for Improved Productivity & Lean Integration will be held
June 20-21, 2006 at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL. NPE is the
premiere tradeshow serving the plastics industry. This will
be the first time SME has participated in NPE and will sponsor
its own conference, as well as assist in the development of
SPI’s technical sessions.
